Prediction effects
Glow Slice
The winning slice glows as the wheel slows down, revealing a hint of the result before it stops.
Clone Wheel
The screen goes dark, then every slice takes on the winning entry’s name and color.
Random Prediction
Picks a prediction effect at random. It uses the activation rate and targets set for Random Prediction itself.
HOW TO SET IT UP
Set up a prediction effect
Add your entries to the wheel, then open Star Dial to set up the effect.
Press and hold START
Press and hold START in the center of the wheel to open Star Dial.
Choose a prediction effect
Tap the numbers at the star’s points to select Prediction, then turn the dial to an effect such as Glow Slice.
Set the Activation Rate
Tap the selected effect’s Activation Rate and choose a value from 0 to 100%. At 100%, it plays on every eligible spin. At 50%, it plays on roughly half of eligible spins over time.
Choose targets in Edit
Open Edit and select entries under Prediction Targets. You can choose several entries, or just one such as “Winner.”
Return to the wheel
Changes save immediately. Close the settings, tap the center of Star Dial to return to the wheel, and give it a spin.
Activation rate and targets
An effect plays only when the result is one of its targets and it passes the activation-rate check.
- Activation Rate: 0–100%
- Adjust in 1% steps; the default is 100%. Use the 0, 10, 20, 50 or 100% buttons, the slider, or enter a number. Each eligible spin is checked separately, so 50% does not mean exactly every other spin.
- Prediction Targets: choose one or more
- All entries are selected by default. If you select only “Winner,” the effect will not play when “Try again” is picked. Clear all targets to prevent the effect from playing.
- Separate settings for each effect
- Each prediction effect has its own activation rate and targets. When you use Random Prediction, its own settings apply.
- A target is not a guaranteed winner
- Adding “Winner” to Prediction Targets does not make it more likely to win. Targets determine which results are allowed to trigger the effect.
Preview half of the winning results
Suppose the wheel has a 20% chance of landing on “Winner.” Select only “Winner” as a prediction target, set Activation Rate to 50%, and turn revival effects off.

The chance of landing on “Winner” stays at 20%. Setting Activation Rate to 100% does not make the wheel pick “Winner” every time.
Change the winning odds
Editing entry weights changes both slice sizes and the usual winning odds. Use Hidden Odds to adjust the odds without changing slice sizes, or Aim to choose the next result. These are separate from a prediction effect’s activation rate.

When a revival effect actually triggers, prediction targets are checked against the fake result shown first, and the prediction effect points to that fake result. It does not play again for the final result. When no revival occurs, predictions apply to the actual result as usual.

Can I use prediction effects on Android?
Yes. Install SpinnerSS from Google Play for Android, or the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Open Prediction in Star Dial to set up your effects.
Which prediction effects are free?
Red Flash and Glow Slice are free. Clone Wheel and Random Prediction are included in the one-time Premium purchase.
Why is no effect playing at a 100% activation rate?
The result must be included in Prediction Targets. Also check that you have selected at least one target and an effect, and that the triangle switch has not turned secret controls off. When a revival effect actually triggers, predictions apply to the fake result.
Does choosing an entry in Edit guarantee that it wins?
No. Prediction Targets determine when the effect may play. Use Aim to choose a result, or Hidden Odds to change winning odds without changing the wheel’s appearance.
Can I use prediction effects for a party game or video?
Yes. Add entries that suit your game, then choose an effect and activation rate to build anticipation before the wheel stops. For a planned reveal, you can also set the next result with Aim.
Can I turn predictions off without deleting my settings?
Tap the triangle at the top of the wheel to turn all Star Dial secret controls off or on while keeping your settings. This switches all configured secret controls together, not just prediction effects.
